The Jazz Brunch® with Suzanne Carroll began in 1994 on WJZE radio in Toledo, Ohio which at the time was a Smooth Jazz radio station. As the jazz radio format disappeared from the Toledo radio horizon, The Jazz Brunch® became a specialty show for other radio formats.
This program has aired on two Classic Rock stations, an Alternative Rock Station, an Urban Contemporary, and for the last five years has found its home on Adult Contemporary WRVF, Toledo 101.5 The River. Audiences through the years on these radio stations have enjoyed the alternative specialty programming The Jazz Brunch® has offered. Jazz has stood out as a special event each week!
Through the years Suzanne Carroll has taken the programming of The Jazz Brunch® from primarily smooth jazz to a broader blend of the entire jazz genre, blending together instrucmentals and vocals. Suzanne explains it like this, "My musical tastes, exposure, and my collection have broadened immensely have a great time programming this show. There are so many talented musicians to choose from!"
Producing and hosting The Jazz Brunch live each week has gicen special purpose to Suzanne's life, and a special reason to keep fighting the Multiple Sclerosis she was diagnosed with shortly before she began hosting The Jazz Brunch. "Knowing so many people look forward to the jazz on Sunday reall keeps me focused through the rough spots with the MS. I know where I need to be every Sunday morning, no matter what! Also, listening to so much jazz as I prepare the show is always a joy," Suzanne commented.
The Jazz Brunch has enjoyed its greatest success on 101.5 The River, and expects to be nestled here for many years to come!
